I called Briley and asked about the differences between the Midas chokes and their X2 chokes. I was told that the Midas chokes are made to Browning's specifications and that the they were not the same as the Briley labeled X2 chokes. When I asked which was better, they said something to the effect of:
"We don't make our chokes to the same specifications as the Browning Midas chokes, even though we could if we wanted to do so."
Now, you can take that any way you like. But based on the way it was said, I have a pretty good idea that means that Briley doesn't agree that the Browning specifications are ideal.
Then again, maybe Briley makes inferior chokes on purpose....
I am far less concerned about aesthetics and much more concerned about performance.
